Also hit by the ice storm, power out since Friday and site says Friday restoration. Branch through roof and leak in bedroom from that. I'm so over it. Just got internet back about 2 hours ago. I know other places have had tornadoes and wildfires and whatever storms but this winter has been horrific and we're just too old to deal with all of it.

.. too bad I'm not hearing that any American hydro workers came up to lend a hand to their Canadian neighbours up here!!!

That's awful!

We had another storm yesterday and I was up coat of the night keeping watch. Lost power briefly but it did come back on. The winds today were brutal!

I hadn't heard if thr school buses woukd be running or if the elementary school had power but I decided to pick up the kids from my mom's just in case. I got the notice when at mom's that all zones are a go for tomorrow. The kids aren't really that happy about it. Lol

The main road I take down to my mom's was open and we saw crews working on removing trees from power lines along our road. I believe most of the town has power again. But there's still so many who don't north of us. DD's boyfriend doesn't have power yet.

It's going to be a while before everything is cleaned up.

Had to pick up the kids from school for appointments today that I thought woukd be cancelled but weren't.

I haven't come into the main town where I shop since before the storm. One road I take there is just totally devestated. Hydro poles have snapped all along the road. Some of those poles had nest platforms for falcons. We always stop to watch the birds fix up the nests and raise young. It's so sad.

So many people still have no power and now the estimated date is Sunday.

Scary thing is the forecast is calling for a snow storm Monday. SNOW!!!! Second week of April. OmG

My sister-in-law just got it back today. That was a long haul.

I'm happy to read that! So many still haven't. One of my old classmates is still out, there's still trees down on her road.

The community really has come together. People with power offering showers and hot meals. Warming centers everywhere now and my local lions club has breakfast/dinner available to those who need it.

Kids and I cleaned up the fallen trees here. Lots of cleanup still to do.

I have another friend still without, being told it could be late this week! Yikes.

I'm so sorry it's taking so long. The hydro workers have been out constantly. I even heard workers from out of province have come to help.

Some people are angry and I get it but at the same time the amount of damage is just so extreme in places it's hard not to expect this to take time.

Thanks Dragn, we got our power back Friday around 7 so 5 hours short of 7 full days. We have a generator and although it doesn't run much we had morning coffee and a lamp for the evening. Very thankful for a gas fireplace or sure we would have had to find a friend away from this mess. Also thankful I paid attention to the warnings and had a few full fuel containers and flashlights readily available. Plus we moved our vehicles to what we thought safest location. A huge limb landed about 1 foot behind truck hood, phew. MANY reports of vehicle damage. I read that hydro crews came in from New Brunswick to help, how nice.

I'm so happy to hear you got power back.

I just brought one of the kids into town for IC and there's finally hydro trucks at the far end of the one road where most of the poles came down. Also passed a convoy of hydro trucks with one truck pulling a trailer of new poles.

I still know many people without power. Our local school has power but their internet is still down and phones are iffy.

And now it's calling for snow.

Ummm where is Spring?
